FRASER PRESENTS LOCAL SCHOOLS WITH COMPUTERS-FOR-SCHOOLS EQUIPMENT

Christopher Fraser, MP for South West Norfolk, has presented three local schools with brand new digital camera equipment at Tesco’s Thetford branch.  The presentation was part of Tesco’s Computers for Schools scheme, which began in 1992.

The schools involved were Drake Infant & Nursery School, Norwich Road School and Thetford Canterbury First School.

Speaking afterwards Christopher Fraser said:  “I would like to commend Tesco on the efforts it has put into making this worthwhile scheme such a success.  The Computers for Schools programme has an outstanding track record - the scheme has enabled thousands of schools across the UK to collect computers, cameras and other items of school equipment.  I would also like to congratulate all of the parents, teachers and pupils who managed to collect so many vouchers for their schools.

I am sure that every school that has benefited from the scheme has welcomed the extra resources.  The initiative is a reminder of the excellent support parents and the community at large give to our local schools – we all want our children to have the learning facilities they deserve and, as today shows, the benefits resulting from strong partnerships between schools and their local communities can be far-reaching.”
