Christopher Fraser, MP for South West Norfolk, has spoken of his sadness at the loss of jobs at joinery firm JDS Plaswood in Watton. The firm went into administration in February.
Christopher Fraser said: “I was sad to learn that JDS Plaswood employees are to lose their jobs. These redundancies could impact on the economy of Watton and surrounding villages. This is understandably a very worrying time for those involved and for their families.
“I have been in touch with Breckland Council for confirmation that everything possible is being done to provide support for those affected.”
“We are fortunate in Norfolk to have relatively low unemployment, but the time has come for the Government to listen to concerns from the business community that ever-increasing burdens of business taxation, red tape and costs such as the record energy prices are threatening their viability.”
